IS 15208 : 2002 Unidirectional Non-Woven Semi-Cured Glass Fibre Tape - Specification

1 Scope

This standard covers the requirements for unidirectionalnon-woven glass fabric tape consisting of parallel twisted glassyarns. The glass yarns used shall be continuous glass fibres(usually known as E glass, containing not more than one percent ofalkali calculated as sodium oxide and shall be impregnated withcatalyzed thermosetting synthetic resins like acrylic/polyester,etc, meeting desired thermal class for specific application andsemi-cured to a suitable stage to ensure desired flowcharacteristics during applications like bandaging of armature ofelectrical machines, transformers coils, etc, to retainwindings/assemblies in position.
