Revised Standard from Last Update.

NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical to ISO 3834-2 : 2021 ‘Quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials: Part 2 Comprehensive quality requirements (second revision)’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Welding General and its Applications Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 2003 and subsequently revised as IS 15326 (Part 2) : 2017 ‘Quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials: Part 2 comprehensive quality requirements (first revision)’ adopting ISO 3834-2 : 1994 under dual numbering system. The Second revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 3834-2 : 2021.

The changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:

a) Editorial revisions;

b) Update of references to the latest edition of ISO 3834-5

c) Rewrite of Clause 16 on calibration and validation of measuring, inspection and test equipment.
