NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 5) (Second Revision) which is identical to ISO 3834-5 : 2021 'Quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials — Part 5: Documents with which it is necessary to conform to claim conformity to the quality requirements of ISO 3834-2, ISO 3834-3 or ISO 3834-4' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Welding General and its Applications Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.

This standard was published in 2003 and subsequently revised in 2019. The revision of this standard was undertaken in 2019 to align it with the ISO 3834-5 : 2015. This revision has been brought out to align it with the latest version of ISO 3834-5 under dual numbering system to harmonize it with the latest developments that have taken place at international level.

In this revision, following major changes have been incorporated:

a) Annex A has been deleted;

b) The list of welding processes has been expanded, for example laser-arc hybrid welding; and

c) Normative references have been moved to the bibliography as none are referenced normatively in the document.

This standard has been published in five parts. The other parts in this series are:
