IS 15327 : 2022/ISO 14731 : 2019 Welding Coordination - Tasks and Responsibilities

NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian standard which is identical to ISO 14731 : 2019 ‘Welding coordination - Tasks and responsibilities (second revision)’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Welding General and its Applications Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.
This standard was originally published in 2003 and subsequently revised as IS 15327 : 2018 ‘Welding coordination - Tasks and responsibilities (first revision)’ under dual numbering system.
The Second revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 14731 : 2019.
The changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:
a) Informative reference to IIW has been removed due to anti competition rules;
b) Annex A now addresses the assessment of welding coordination personnel;
c) The term responsible welding coordinator, RWC, has been deleted;
d) The concept of competence and levels (see Clause 6) has been introduced;
e) New sub clause B.20 has been added to address Health and Safety and Environment.
