1 Scope

This standard (Part 3) gives guidance on ordering in all types ofproduction industry ranging from the simplest to the most complicated caseof engineering multi-product batch production. It describes the decisionsto be made and the systems and methods that can ensure that these decisionto be made and the systems and methods that can ensure that thesedecisions are made efficiently. A number of ordering systems are describedtogether with their applicability. The level of detail is sufficient toguide the readers on the choice of a system or systems appropriate totheir industry.
