IS 15516 : 2004 Industrial Variable-Reach Trucks - Stability Test

1 Scope

1.1 This standard specifies basic tests to verify the stabilityof industrial variable-reach fork-lift trucks.

1.2 It applies to self-propelled, seated rider operated,counterbalanced industrial variable-reach fork-lift trucks.

  a) With non-slewing booms or with a slewing movement notgreater than 5º either side of the longitudinal centreplane of the truck;

  b) Fitted with fork arms or load-handling attachments;

  c) With a fixed or articulated chassis;

  d) That may have stabilizers, axle-locking orframe-levelling devices; and

  e) With two or four-wheel or articulated steeringsystems.

1.3 This standard does not apply to the above trucks when theyare handling suspended loads which may swing freely.
