IS 15517 : 2004 Gaseous Fire Extinguishing Systems - HFC 227ea (Hepta Fluoro Propane) Extinguishing Systems

1 Scope

1.1 This standard sets out specific requirements for the designand installation of total flooding fire-extinguishing systemsemploying HFC 227ea (Hepta fluoro propane) gas extinguishant. Thisstandard is applicable to single supply as well as distributedsupply systems.

1.2 This standard complements various general requirementsapplicable to all types of gaseous fire-extinguishing systems(Halocarbon as well as Inert gas systems) listed in IS 15493. Assuch, both these standards should be read together before designinga system. Where requirements in both the standards differ, thisstandard shall take precedence.

1.3 This standard covers systems operating at nominal pressuresof 2.5 MPa and 4.2 MPa only.
