This Indian Standard ( Part 2 ) which is identical with ISO 15022-2 : 1999 ?Securities - Scheme for messages ( Data Field Dictionary) - Part 2: Maintenance of the Data Field Dictionary and Catalogueof Messages? issued by the International Organization for Standardization ( ISO ) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of the Banking and Financial Services SectionalCommittee and approval of the Management and Systems Division Council.

The text of the International Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in IndianStandards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ?International Standard? appear referring to this standard, they should beread as ?Indian Standard?.

b) Comma ( , ) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practiceis to use a point ( . ) as the decimal marker.

In the adopted standard, reference appears to the following International Standard for which Indian Standard also exists. The corresponding Indian Standard, which is to be substituted in its place, islisted below along with its degree of equivalence for the edition indicated:
