IS 15677 : 2006 Metering of Natural Gas - Code of Practice

1 Scope

1.1 This Code gives guidance on the specification,design, installation, operation and maintenance ofmetering systems for high accuracy flow measurement,estimation of uncertainty (see Annex H), secondaryinstrumentation (see Annex J), gas properties relatedto metering of natural gas (see Annex K) and relatedsafety aspects (see Annex Q).

1.2 These guidelines cover five types of meters, namelyorifice, turbine, ultrasonic, rotary and coriolis.

1.3 These guidelines apply to installations suppliedwith natural gas in the gaseous phase only where thegas temperatures at the meter are within the range of-10�C to +55�C.

1.4 These guidelines are intended to cover meteringinstallations that are used for custody-transfer meteringof gas including reconciliation and accountingpurposes.

1.5 All pressures quoted in these guidelines are gaugepressure unless otherwise stated.
