1 Scope

This standard specifies a method to determine thedeterioration of visibility due to smoke produced whenmaterials burn in a given sealed chamber, by assessingthe attenuation of a light beam passing through thechamber. The method is applicable to combustion ofall kinds of materials including textiles.
