1 Scope
This clause of IS 1293 is applicable except asfollows:
Addition after the sixth paragraph:
This standard applies to fixed switched socket-outletswith out interlock for ac only, with or without earthingcontact, with rated voltage not exceeding 440V and arated current not exceeding 32A, intended forhousehold and similar purposes, either indoors oroutdoors.
Switched socket-outlets can also be produced bycombining a socket as per IS 1293 and a switch as perIS 3854.
