This standard (Part 1) explains and defines the termsthat are used in connection with the determination ofthe maceral group composition of lignite in reflectedlight as well as blue light irradiation (fluorescencemicroscopy) and the determination of reflectance ofhuminite.

NOTE - This standard is neither intended to be a comprehensiveglossary of lignite petrographic terminology, nor does it extendcomplete information to allow recognition of all the lignitecomponents described.
