This Indian Standard (part 1) which IS Identical with ISO 10958-1 : 1998 Snowboards -... Binding mounting area - Part 1: Requirements and test methods for snowboards without inserts issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommenoation of the Mountameering Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Produ ction and General Engineering Division Council.

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as sui table for pu blicalion as an Ind ian Standard Without deviations. Certain conventions are , however, not Identical to thos e used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to tile iol lowmq:

a Wherever the word s Inte rnational Standard appear re!ernng to this standard , they sboulo be read as Indian Standard.

b) Comma C) has been used as a decimal marker in the International Standards, while In Indian Standards, the current practice rs to use a pornt (.) as the decimal marker
