1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard prescribes the performance requirements of sports footwear used for general purposes (for example fitness, exercising, walking and light sports activities etc).

1.2 This standard does not cover the performance requirement for following:

a) Performance sports footwear (jogging, running including trail running, adventure sport, trekking, climbing and etc); and

b) Professional sports footwear.

The standards listed in Annex A contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revisions and parties toagreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards indicated in Annex A.
