This draft Indian Standard (Part 3/Sec 1) (First Revision) which is identical with IEC 61747-3-1 : 2015 ‘Liquid crystal display devices - Part 3-1: Liquid crystal display (LCD) cells - Blank detail specification’ issued by the International Electro technical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Electronic Display Devices Sectional Committee and approval of the Electronics and Information Technology Division Council.

IS 15934(Part 3/Sec 1) was first published in 2014 and was identical to IEC 61747-3-1: 2006. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of IEC 61747-3-1 : 2015.
