Revised Standard from Last Update.

NATIONAL FORWORD

The Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical to ISO 11495 : 2019 'Jewellery and precious metals - Determination of palladium in palladium alloys - ICP-OES method using an internal standard element' issued by the international Organization for Standardization (ISO) and was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Precious Metals Sectional Committee, and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 2011 which was identical with ISO 11495 : 2008. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 11495 : 2019.

The major changes in this revision are as follows:

a) the definition of bracketing in 3 has been removed;

b) the recommended lines in 4 have been removed;

c) reagents in 5 have been changed and removed, and the requirements about yttrium in 5.4 been removed;

d) the preparation of the internal standard soultion in 8.1 has been changed;

e) the list of standards to be prepared and precisions about qualification of them by linearity as well as way to choose the low and high standards in 8.2 have been changed;

f) the way of preparation by aliquots for both standard and sample solution in 8.2 and 8.3 has been removed;

g) the preparation of both standard and sample solutions in 8.2 and 8.3 has been changed;

h) the definition of bracketing and recommended lines in 8.4 has been added;

j) the formulae in 9.1 have been adapted after having removed the way of preparation by aliquots;

k) the emission line as an information to be mentioned in the test report in 10 has been removed; and

m) the document has been editorially revised.
