NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian standard which is identical to ISO 15607 : 2019 ‘Specification and qualification of welding procedures for metallic materials General rules (first revision)’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Welding General and its Applications Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 2012 adopting ISO 15607 : 2003 under dual numbering system. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 15607 : 2019.

The changes in this version as compared to the previous edition are as follows:

a)ISO 3834 is no longer referenced;

b)Titles of referenced documents have been corrected and some references have been moved to theBibliography;

c)References to International Standards for laser-arc hybrid welding, friction stir welding and productionwelding of steel castings have been added.
