NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard which is identical to ISO 13491-2 : 2023 'Financial services — Secure cryptographic devices (retail) - Part 2: Security compliance checklists for devices used in financial transactions' issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of Banking and Financial Services Sectional Committee, and approval of the Service Sector Division Council.
This standard was first published in 2013 as an identical adoption of ISO 13491-2 : 2004 'Banking - Secure cryptographic devices (retail) - Part 2: Security compliance checklists for devices used in financial transactions' under dual numbering system and further revised in 2019. This second revision has been undertaken to align the Indian Standard with the latest version of ISO 13491-2 that is, ISO 13491-2 : 2023 'Financial services - Secure cryptographic devices (retail) - Part 2: Security compliance checklists for devices used in financial transactions.'
This Indian Standard is published in two parts. The other part in this series is:
Part 1 Concepts requirements and evaluation methods
The main changes are as follows:
a) An additional sub clause, H.5, is added to Annex H and the entire Annex H is reordered forclarity; and
b) Editorially revised.
The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should beread as 'Indian Standard'; and
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice isto use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
