NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 13492 : 2019 ‘Financial services - Key-management-related data element - Application and usage of ISO 8583-1 data elements for encryption’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Banking and Financial Services Sectional Committee and approval of the Services Sector Division Council.

This standard was first published in 2013 as an identical adoption of ISO 13492 : 2007 ‘Financial services - Key management related data element - Application and usage of ISO 8583 data elements 53 and 96’ under dual numbering system. This first revision has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 13492 : 2019.
