1 SCOPE

1.1 This standard specifies the inspection and testing procedure for the periodic inspection of transportable refillable welded cylinders for LPG, of water capacity exceeding 5 litres up to and including 250 litres, as per periodicity defined under Gas Cylinders Rules, 2004. It does not apply to cylinders permanently installed in vehicles. This Code is for mandatory testing of cylinders and not applicable for repair and reconditioning of LPG cylinders in use.

1.2 This standard refers only to technical suitability and does not absolve the user from legal obligation relating to health and safety at any stage. It has been assumed that the inspection is entrusted by appropriately qualified and experienced people or competent persons who have been trained specifically for the task.
