IS 1606 : 1979 Specification for Automobile Lamps

1 Scope

1.1 This standard specifies the technical requirements andmethods of tests for automobile lamps used for various purposes inan automobile, such as for headlights, interior lighting, sidelighting, dashboard lighting.

1.1.1 This standard covers filament lamps of nominal voltages of6, 12 and 24 V and for use in private and commercial vehicles.

1.1.2 The lamps covered by this standard are suitable for thesystem of traffic keeping to the left of the road.
