NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 3) which is identical with ISO 6892-3 : 2015 ‘Metallic materials — Tensile testing — Part 3: Method of test at low temperature issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Mechanical Testing of Metals Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.

The Committee has now decided to adopt this standard under the dual numbering system in order to align it with the latest version of ISO 6892-3 : 2015 and to make pace with the latest international practices.

This standard is published in four parts. Other parts in this series are:

Part 1 Method of test at room temperature

Part 2 Method of test at elevated temperature

Part 4 Method of test in liquid helium

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical with those used in Indian Standard. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ?International Standard appear referring to this standard, it should be as read as ?Indian Standard.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
