IS 16119 : 2013/ISO 7562 : 1990 : POTATOES - GUIDELINES FOR STORAGE IN ARTIFICIALLY VENTILATED STORES
Reaffirmed 2018
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 7562 : 1990 Potatoes - Guidelines for storage in artificially ventilated stores issued by the International Organization for Standardization ( ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Processed Fruits and Vegetable Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Food and Agriculture Division Council. Methods of storing potatoes depend to a large extent on local climatic conditions, the degree and type of mechanization available and the end use of the potatoes. In many countries, potatoes are commonly stored in clamps, but special stores with artificial ventilation are being increasingly used.
The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words International Standard appear referring to this standard, they should be read as Indian Standard.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
