IS 16227 : Part 100 : 2018/IEC 61869-100 : 2017 Instrument Transformers Part 100 Guidance for Application of Current Transformers in Power System Protection
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 100) which is identical with IEC 61869-100 Instrument transformers — Part 100: Guidance for application of current transformers in power system protection’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Instrument Transformers Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.
This standard is one of the IS 16227 series of standards. This guide is applicable to inductive protective current transformers meeting the requirements of the IS 16227 (Part 2) : 2016.
This standard was first published as IS 4201 : 1983 Application guide for current transformers (first revision)’. This draft standard, once published, shall supersede IS 4201 : 1983.
The text of IEC Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
