1. SCOPE
1.1 This standard (Part 4) covers provisions for the selection and manifestation of glass in buildings, and safety with respect to human impact of the occupants.
1.2 This standard does not cover the following:
a) Glazing system including frameless glazing system, and
b) Patent glazing.
NOTE — The provisions of this standard pertain to selection of glass and associated materials. However, parties, as per their mutual agreement, may appropriately utilize the relevant provisions for installation of alternative sheeting materials used for similar purposes such as plastic glazing sheets/ polycarbonate sheets taking also into account requirements of safety issues as applicable with the specific material.
