Revised Standard from Last Update.

NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 6141 : 2015 ‘Gas analysis - Contents of certificates for calibration gas mixtures’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Industrial Gases Sectional Committee and approval of the Chemical Division Council.

This standard specifies minimum requirements for the contents of certificates for homogeneous gas mixtures in gas cylinders to be used as calibration gas mixtures. Pure gases, when used as calibration gas mixtures, are also covered by this standard. Furthermore, it specifies additional information (optional data) recommended for describing a homogeneous gas mixture, supplied under pressure in a cylinder or other container. It does not cover the field of safety-relevant data and related labelling.

This standard, which was originally published in 2014, was identical with ISO 6141 : 2000. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with ISO 6141 : 2015.

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appears referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
