NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 30301 : 2019 ‘Information and documentation - Records management Core concepts and vocabulary’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Documentation and Information Sectional Committee and approval of the Management and Systems Division Council.

This standard was first published in 2014. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 30301 : 2019.

The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:

a) a new subclause, 4.1.2 Records requirements, has been added;

b) subclauses 8.2 and 8.3 have been redrafted; and

c) the requirements in Annex A have been renamed and reordered. Requirements numbered A-1.1.1.
