1. Scope

This standard specifies requirements for identification and protection of critical assets for all entities involved in generation, transmission, distribution and trading of electric power. It covers the following:

a) Critical asset identification and monitoring.

b) Security management for personnel and assets.

c) Electronic and physical security of assets.

d) Incident reporting and response and recovery planning.

e) Auditing and conformance procedures.

The standards listed in Annex B contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards listed in Annex B.
