NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1) which is identical with ISO 24801-1 : 2014 ‘Recreational diving services - Requirements for the training of recreational scuba divers - Part 1: Level 1 - Supervised diver’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Tourism and Related Services Sectional Committee and approval of the Management and Systems Division Council.

This standard is a part of IS 16442/ISO 24801 series of standards under the general title ‘Recreational diving services - Requirements for the training of recreational scuba divers’. The other parts in this series are:

Part 2 Level 2 - Autonomous diver

Part 3 Level 3 - Dive leader

The text of the ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
