IS 1649 : 1962 Code of practice for design and construction of flues chimneys domestic heating appliances

1 Scope

1.1 This code deals with the design and construction of fluesand chimneys for domestic appliances that are worked by naturaldraught.

1.1.1 The flues and chimneys may be built either of clay-brick,stone or concrete block masonry; or of concrete cast in-situ; or ofterra cota, metal or asbestos cement pipes.

1.1.2 The flues and chimneys may be free standing, or may forman integral part of a building or a structure, or located in ashaft accommodating plumbing units.
