NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is a modified adoption of IEC 60404-8-11 : 2018 ‘Magnetic materials - Specifications for individual materials - Fe-based amorphous strip delivered in the semiprocessed state’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Wrought Steel Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 2016. In this revision, the standard is aligned with IEC 60404-8-11 : 2018 with certain technical modifications due to particular needs of Indian transformer industry. The portions given in dotted underlines are the matters not specified in the corresponding international standard. A list of technical modification with explanation is given in National Annex C.
