NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 18365 : 2013 ‘Hydrometry — Selection, establishment and operation of a gauging station issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Hydrometry Sectional Committee and approval of the Water Resources Division Council.

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are however not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words International Standard appear referring to this standard, they should be read as Indian Standard.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.

ISO 18365 cancels and replaces ISO 1100-1 : 1996 and ISO/TR 8363 : 1997, which have been merged and technically revised. IS 15119 (Part 1) : 2002 was identical to ISO 1100-1 : 1996. IS 9922 : 2010 was based on ISO/TR 8363 : 1997. Both the standards would stand withdrawn after publication of this standard.
