IS 16769 : 2024/ISO 9462 : 2023 Alpine Ski-Bindings - Requirements and Methods of Test
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical to ISO 9462 : 2023 'Alpine ski-bindings - Requirements and test methods' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Mountaineering Sectional Committee and approval of the Production and General Engineering Division Council.
This standard was first published in 2018. This revision has been taken up to align it with ISO 9462 : 2023.
The major changes in this revision are as follows:
a) Definitions have been modified and notes to entry in 3.1.1, 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 have been added;
b) New clause 3.1.4 has been added;
c) New Fig. 2 'Application of Fy,toe and Fz,heel' has been added;
d) New clause 4.3 has been added;
e) New clause 6.8 'Compatibility to boot in accordance with ISO 23223 : 2021' has been added;
f) New Fig. 8 'Clearance area around the antifriction device (AFD)' has been added;
g) New table 4 'Compatibility marking' has been added;
h) Correction of scale of Figure D.2 'Tolerances on My' has been made; and
j) New Annex E 'Test body in accordance with ISO 9838 : 2023 for compatibility test' has been added.
The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are however not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current-practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
