NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 1) (First Revision) which is identical to ISO 21067-1 : 2016 'Packaging - Vocabulary - Part 1: General terms' issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO), will be adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of Transport Packages, Packaging Codes and Pallets Sectional Committee and approval of the Transport Engineering Division Council.
This standard was first published in 2018, which was based on ISO 21067 : 2007. This revision is undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 21067-1 : 2016.
This standard is one of the part of standards on 'Packaging - Vocabulary'. Other part of the series is as follows:
Part 2 Packaging and the environment terms
The text of ISO standard is proposed for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
