NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 2) (First Revision) which is identical to ISO 21067-2 : 2015 'Packaging - Vocabulary - Part 2: Packaging and the environment terms' issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendations of Transport Packages, Packaging Codes and Pallets Sectional Committee and approval of the Transport Engineering Division Council.
IS 16961 was first published in 2018, which was based on ISO 21067 : 2007. This revision of the standard has been carried out to align it with the latest version of ISO 21067-2 : 2015.
This standard is one of the series of standards on 'Packaging - Vocabulary'. Other part of the series is:
Part 1 General terms
The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
