1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard is intended to provide general guidance for the use of borescope and videoscope for visual examination or visual inspection of surfaces inside narrow tubes/pipes or difficult-to-reach chambers in order to detect the presence of imperfections or to assess condition and texture.

1.2 This standard specifies theory, working principle, functions and definitions of borescopes and related terms which will be helpful for conducting visual examinations using appropriate borescope.
