IS 16981 : 2018/ISO/TS 16179 : 2012 Footwear - Critical Substances Potentially Present in Footwear and Footwear Components - Determination of Organotin Compounds in Footwear Materials

NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO/TS 16179 : 2012 ‘Footwear — Critical substances potentially present in footwear and footwear components — Determination of organotin compounds in footwear materials’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Footwear Sectional Committee and approval of the Chemical Division Council.
There are some editorial changes in this standard which are as follows:
a) 7.1.9, NOTE: Substitute ‘Pre-weighed tetraethylborate or commercial solutions are available in the market’ for the existing;
b) 7.5.2, second line: Insert (5.4) after vessels;
c) 7.5.5: Insert (7.3) after tropolone solution;
d) 7.5.8 and 7.6.10: Substitute ‘Transfer the isooctane phase into a suitable GC sampling vial and perform GC-MS analysis’ for the existing; and
e) 7.9.3, Equation 3: Substitute ‘11naiiDRFDRFn==S’ for the existing.
The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘Technical specification’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
