1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard covers the general requirements for civil engineering works for ropeways like buildings, line towers, station foundations, anchor foundations and mechanical foundations.

1.2 Grillage, brick and masonry footings and anchor plates are not covered in this standard. The design and construction of pre-stressed concrete foundations are also notcovered.

1.3 Nothing in this standard shall contravene the provisions laid in IS 456 unless specifically mentioned otherwise.

The Indian standards listed in Annex A contain provisions which through reference in the text, constitute provision of this standard. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards.
