1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard covers the safety requirements for the mechanical and electrical devices of the drive system and other devices for all types of Ropeway installations designed to carry persons.

2. REFERENCES

The standards listed in Annex A contain provisions which, through reference in the text, constitute provisions of this standard. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to make agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the standards. Annex A gives a list of standards which may be used in the design and construction of aerial ropeways.
