1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard specifies requirements for all types of polyester staple fibres (PSF), such as virgin fibres, recycled fibres, dope dyed fibres, cationic dyeable fibres; and other polyester specialty fibres, such as spun lace fibres; slick fibres: antimicrobial fibres; nonwoven/filling fibres; flame retardant fibres; siliconised fibres and micro fibres; etc. for various end usages.

1.2 Requirements for fibres for use in cement matrix for construction works are separately specified in IS 16481 and are not covered in this standard.
