1. Scope

This standard specifies testing methods for identification, labelling and marking of Pashmina products by using the light microscopy (LM), the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and DNA -polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. This standard is applicable to raw fibre, sliver, yarn, dyed/processed fabrics and finished products made of atleast 90 percent of pashmina fibres.

NOTE - The product shall be marked and labeled as pashmina product if it contains atleast 90 percent of pashmina fibres in the product.
