1 SCOPE

1.1 This standard provides design considerations of Glass fibre reinforced gypsum (GFRG) panels for use in structural design of buildings.

1.2 This standard covers the structural design of vertical members using GFRG panels in buildings up to a maximum of ten storeys or up to 35 m height (from ground level including plinth height and staircase/lift well head room in terrace floor), with the cavities filled with reinforced concrete (partially or wholly), subject to axial compression, compression with out-of-plane bending, and compression with in-plane bending and shear.

1.3 This standard covers the structural design of horizontal members using GFRG panels as flexural members in floors and roofs (flat or sloped) and staircases, with the cavities filled with reinforced concrete (partially or wholly).

1.4 The standard also covers the use of GFRG panels as non-load bearing infill walls (external and internal walls) in RC framed multi-storeyed buildings.
