NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 5) which is identical with ISO 17491-5 : 2013 'Protective clothing - Test methods for clothing providing protection against chemicals - Part 5: Determination of resistance to penetration by a spray of liquid (manikin spray test)' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Textiles Protective Clothing Sectional Committee and approval of the Textiles Division Council.

This Indian Standard is published in five parts. The other parts in this series are:

Part 1 Determination of resistance to outward leakage of gases (internal pressure test)

Part 2 Determination of resistance to inward leakage of aerosols and gases (inward leakage test)

Part 3 Determination of resistance to penetration by a jet of liquid (jet test)

Part 4 Determination of resistance to penetration by a spray of liquid (spray test)

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
