1 SCOPE

This Indian Standard covers the requirements of thermosetting insulated armoured fire survival cables for fixed installations having low emission of smoke and corrosive gasses for maintaining circuit integrity when affected by fire for single phase and three phase systems, suitable for operation at voltages up to and including 1 100 V a.c. and 1 500 V d.c. These cables are suitable for use where combination of ambient temperature and temperature rise due to load results in conductor temperature not exceeding 90 °C under normal operation and 250 °C under short circuit conditions.

NOTES

1 The cables conforming to this standard may be operated continuously at a power frequency voltage 10 percent higher than rated voltage.

2 The standard does not cover single core unarmoured unsheathed cable.
