1 SCOPE

1.1 This standard prescribes the minimum performance requirements of sentry posts for protection against small arms ammunitions and provides procedures for their evaluation. The scope of the standard is limited to physical and ballistic evaluation of sentry posts against in service small arms ammunition used by the Indian Armed Forces, central armed police forces and other law enforcement agencies.

1.2 This standard covers only the basic design of sentry posts and provides guidelines for its evaluation. Specific requirements in terms of design, protection area, additional attachments, storage arrangements etc. are entirely dependent upon the user/purchaser
