1. Scope

1.1 This standard covers minimum requirements of insulated containers for storage and maintaining the temperature of hot and cold food (solid, semi solidor viscous liquid) for domestic purpose upto 20 litre nominal capacity.

NOTE - The insulated containers can be used for transporting or table top.

1.2 The insulated containers can be of the following types:

a) Plastic on the outside and stainless-steel inside;

b) Stainless steel on both sides;

c) Plastic on both sides;

d) Lid or bottom container can be like a, b or c above;

e) Lid can be of glass with beading (mainly stainless steel with or without silicone gasket; and

f) Hot/cold box with inserts (stainless steel utensils with stainless steel/plastic lid).
