NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 3) (First Revision) which is identical to ISO 18134-3 : 2023 'Solid biofuels - Determination of moisture content - Part 3: Moisture in general analysis sample' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Solid Mineral Fuels and Solid Biofuels Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.

This standard was first published in 2021, as adoption of ISO 18134-3 : 2015 'Solid biofuels - Determination of moisture content - Oven dry method - Part 3: Moisture in general analysis sample'. This revision has been brought out to align it with the latest version of ISO 18134-3 : 2023 'Solid biofuels - Determination of moisture content - Part 3: Moisture in general analysis sample'.

The major changes in this revision are as follows:

a) title has been revised;

b) clause 6 statement added warning against loss or gain of moisture during sample preparation;

c) references updated; and

d) minor editorial corrections.

This standard is published in three parts. Other parts in this series are:

The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
