1. SCOPE

This standard specifies the construction and performance requirement of a cooling cabinet made out of clay, which operates on the principle of evaporative cooling. These cabinets may be used to store perishable foodstuff in areas where electrical power is not available.

NOTES

1 The cooling cabinet covered in this standard operates on the principle of evaporative cooling maintaining the inside cabinet temperature, not below the ambient wet-bulb temperature.

2 These cabinets are not suitable to preserve the foodstuff which are required to be stored in frozen state.
