NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 7492 : 2019 ‘Dentistry - Dental explorer’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Dentistry Sectional Committee and after approval of the Medical Equipment and Hospital Planning Division Council.

This standard was first published in 2008 which was identical with ISO 7492 : 1997. The first version of this standard had superseded IS 4716 : 1993 ‘Dental instruments - Dental probes’. The first revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 7429 : 2019.
