NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 7) (First Revision) which is identical with ISO 14708-7 : 2019 (including corrections made by ISO in 2020) ‘Implants for surgery - Active implantable medical devices - Part 7: Particular requirements for cochlear implant systems’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Neurosurgery Instruments, Implants and Accessories Sectional Committee and approval of the Medical Equipment and Hospital Planning Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 2019 and was identical with ISO 14708-7 : 2013 Implants for surgery - Active implantable medical devices - Part 7: Particular requirements for cochlear implant systems. The first revision of this standard was undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 14708 : 2019.
